Meet Queensland’s 100 top Instagram influencers and what they’re about

OnlyFans superstars, relatable mummy bloggers and troublemaking pranksters – the Sunshine State is full of some of Australia’s biggest #trending Instagram influencers. Take a look at our list of the top 100.

Aussie stars from The Influencer Index

They’re the A-list celebrities of the Instagram generation – the beauty gurus, viral pranksters, fitness queens, OnlyFans stars, extreme sport ninjas and flawless swimwear models who share an insight into their envious lifestyle with millions of followers all around the world.

More and more young Australians dream of becoming a social media superstar everyday, with more than half of Gen Z girls saying they would quit school or a ‘normal job’ to become an influencer if given the opportunity.

Brisbane-based food blogger and Instagram superstar Bec Hardgrave says that any young person who wants to become an influencer should just go for it.

“Just start and don’t care what other people think,” she said.

“Even though I love my job, there is a lot of negativity on the internet. You need to have a thick skin and not let it get to you. If you want it, go for it.”

As a qualified health and fitness coach and ‘big foodie’, Hardgrave has racked up over 107k followers on her Instagram and 117k on TikTok for her fun and quirky videos reviewing popular fast food snacks which has seen her collaborate with major brands and release her own recipe eBook.

Bec says that she never thought she would be on the list of the Top 100 Queensland influencers and describes her social media journey as a “whirlwind to say the least”.

“It’s definitely required a lot of self determination, but it’s been really fulfilling to make a hobby into something so much bigger,” she said.

Another social media powerhouse, Willem Ungermann, better known as Willem Powerfish says that there is definitely a lot of pros and cons of having a large following on social media.

“It’s been a bust up,” he said, “I guess it’s just to make people laugh and also help others in anyway you can.”

Ungermann says that the highlight of his social media career has been being able to help people in need and says any young person who wants to become an influencer just needs to be themselves.

“If you want to be well known on social media you need thick skin, it’s a very evil place and can break the strongest men,” he said.

“People are cruel but if you can learn to block all of that out you will be fine.

“Try and be original and be yourself, make the audience feel as if they have known you for years just be you.”
