The Tallebudgera magician and ex-Bachelorette contestant is hosting online magic lessons for wannabe tricksters, teaching tech-niques sure to bust boredom and impress your household.
Jackson says he’s been thinking of running online magic lessons for years but the coronavirus lockdown was the push he needed to make it happen: “I had messages from so many people saying ‘We really want to learn magic’, especially as lock down started. I’d always wanted to share magic with other people, teach them what I was passionate about.”

Jackson’s magic lessons called Magic Squad are offered through Patreon, a global membership platform website that allows creatives to run a subscription content service.
For $9.95 a month you have access to two video lessons a week, with membership at $99.95 a month for ‘circle diamond’ access including extra lessons, a merchandise kit and one-on-one tutoring with Jackson.
“Rather than teach the course, I wanted to do something that also teaches the moves and principles of magic so people can create their own routines and tricks and moves. That’s where the fun comes in in magic. You can design your own routines.”
Jackson says the lessons are for both kids and adults. A first tutorial in mentalism is online now.

“You get to openly predict a thought of an object or something else in an interesting way,” he says.
“I love mentalism. There’s some-thing so crazy about that. Everyone always has that thought in their head of can someone really read their mind? Getting inside someone’s head is a little bit spooky still.
“Pretty much all of the tricks on there use everyday objects, which makes things super easy. You’re not racing out to buy bunnies.”
