A GOLD Coast artist has had her work exposed to millions of people after two of her pieces appeared on episodes of House Rules: High Stakes.
The Channel 7 reality building TV show featured the work of Currumbin photographer Virginia Star on the series’ premiere and also last night’s episode, showcasing the creations Palm Springs Palm & Stripes, and Under The Wave.
Ms Star said her work was chosen by two couples on the show after being added to a collection for art publicity group Art Lovers Australia.

“I’m represented by Art Lovers Australia who handle a lot of artist’s different work,” Ms Star said.
“They’ve managed to get the contract through House Rules. They also do The Block and Selling Houses Australia.
“I got a call last October that one of the couples had chosen my work, and then another couple had too. I was pretty excited. They (the artworks) got good airtime.”
Ms Star spent her career as a press photographer and said she discovered a love for capturing images after snapping a candid picture of her grandparents at 14.
“It wasn’t long after that (photograph) they both passed away,” she said.
“I gave it to my mum and she burst into tears. It was at that very moment I realised the power of a photograph, that passion has stayed with me since.”
