Ex MAFS farmer Mick Gould wants to do good. He will even strip naked if that gets the message out, but there are some things he just won’t do.

Harnessing the publicity generated from his time with the controversy-laden Married At First Sigh t, Mick Gould is striking while the iron is hot to support causes close to his heart — struggling farmers and the Green Shirt Movement.

He’s offering himself as the prize to raise funds for Rural Aid in a partnership with new online platform Hang With A Star .

For $10, you can go into a draw for Go VIP on Sydney Harbour with Mick on September 1. Mick has no target on how much money they hope to raise but says he is “ready to give the winner an awesome fun time and be the perfect host.”

Describing himself as a happy-go-lucky guy “who went on the dumbest show on the planet”, Mick, 32, says his time on MAFS has reaffirmed the “selfishness of my generation and the generation underneath me”.

He wants to “do good” to make up for it.

So, was he not aware of what reality TV is all about?

“Fair dinkum, I was one of only a couple who believed what the producers told me. Yes, 100 per cent naive, but I’m like most country people. I trust you until the trust is broken. I really should have done some research.”

While he concedes being burnt by MAFS has given him celebrity status, he says he is very uncomfortable with it.

“I like my personal space, but you go anywhere and it’s photo, photo, photo. Very few people want to have a chat and everyone thinks they know you.

“That is why I won’t do those celebrity opening crap. I’ve done two and it’s just a wank fest. People just want to post to Instagram!”

Told that likes had been removed from Instagram, Mick says “that’s a good thing”.

“It will take away the ego — all those women with lots hanging out and blokes taking shirts off, saying how amazing they are, who cares?”

Still, Mick is not all anti-social media and reality TV, confirming that he and The Bachelor star Kayla Gray are still a happy item.

“She’s genuine and we have things in common, like she grew up on a farm in Mt Gambier.

“Funny thing is Kayla has everything that I asked for in my MAFS wife, as opposed to what I’ve got with Jessika Power,” he says with a shudder.

Mick adds he will not be shying away from social media anytime soon, having learnt to post on Instagram via Google post-MAF some three months ago. Plus he knows the power of publicity, noting that his nude photo got a lot of traction and that was a big boost for The Naked Farmer, a social media movement to raise awareness about mental health and encourage people who are struggling to seek help.

Enter the VIP on Sydney Harbour draw by midnight, August 22.
