Former Townsville beauty Rachel Dillon places second in WBFF

FORMER Townsville fitness guru Rachel Dillon has competed in the WBFF modelling competition in Las Vegas.

FORMER Townsville fitness guru Rachel Dillon has placed second in an international fitness modelling competition.

Dillon, previously a World Bikini Fitness and Fashion bikini champion two years in a row, backed up her success with a second placing at this year’s event in Las Vegas.

Known for her Bodies By Rachel online fitness empire, the now Sydney-based personal trainer has 571,000 Instagram followers. Dillon said it was an amazing feeling to place second in the competition.

“There were over 60 professional bikini athletes from 40 countries in my division — so coming second is a huge achievement and one I am incredibly proud of,” she said.

“I’ve never ‘lost’ a show before, and I think being gracious in defeat is just as important as when you win.

“If it wasn’t me who won, I’m super glad it was Lauren (Simpson), who’s a close friend.”

Dillon said she did a 12-week preparation for the competition but it was enjoyable for her because it was “so close to how I live my everyday life”.

“You have to be on point with your diet and really dedicated to your training — but I love living a healthy lifestyle year round, so it’s a rewarding challenge for me,” she said.

Dillon is now spending a couple of days in Las Vegas to celebrate her 25th birthday before heading to Hawaii with her family and partner for a holiday.
