TALLEBUDGERA The Bachelorette star Apollo Jackson looks like he’s feeling the heat in teasers for tonight’s premiere of Australia’s Got Talent, but spare a thought for girlfriend Edyn Mackney.
The fellow Gold Coaster and Love Island alumni was in the audience when the magician’s death-defying stunt took a horrifying turn.
“She probably was a bit nervous and scared watching things, but she never shows it,” Jackson says.

“She supports all the crazy wild things I do and doesn’t bat an eyelid.
“Sometimes I think ‘I’m actually doing something crazy’ and then I look over at her and she’s not freaking out, so I think it must be OK.
“She came to all the (Australia’s Got Talent) rehearsals as well. She sees how much I love what I do.”
While the multitalented Jackson — whose resume includes everything from security to a stint in horticulture with Gold Coast City Council — also works as a music artist, DJ, actor and pro wrestler, it may just be the magician tag that gets the girls.

“I think being a magician is always an interesting conversation starter,” he says.
“Looking at America and Britain’s Got Talent you can see magic is back on the rise again. It’s a resurgence, it’s cool again.
“I think it’s a good icebreaker for meeting people in general.”
