Private and confidential near-nude photos were allegedly among confidential information accessed by unsuspecting users of a Gold Coast influencer’s fitness app after a data glitch logged them into other people’s accounts on Tuesday afternoon.
Influencer Rachel Dillon’s Move With Us fitness platform’s users flooded a Facebook forum with comments questioning why they were able to see personal information belonging to people they had never met while attempting to log into their own accounts, while others reported seeing other people’s progress photos.
“The app encourages you to take before and during photos as you progress through the challenges, girls often take these in their underwear or sometimes with no clothes at all as you assume your data will stay safe,” one user told The Courier-Mail.
“What happened this afternoon was an app update was pushed out to all of our apps and it obviously contained some kind of bug or malfunction where when a user logged into their own profile, they were presented with another user’s profile data.”
She said she could see another person’s email address, app preferences, and date of birth information, and while she could not personally see anyone else’s photos, she was worried that her photos and information had been visible to other people.
The Move With Us Facebook community page was awash with nearly 200 comments asking if others were experiencing the same issue.
The Dietitians Move With Us account, which also acts as the group admin, responded.
“We sincerely apologise for the issue and can confirm this has now been fixed,” they said.
“Our app provider has also advised that progress photos were not visible by others.”
But that was disputed by several posters, who said that other people’s photos were “definitely visible.”
Another app user said she had full visibility of another client’s data, including her photos, during the breach.
“I had access to all of xxxxx info, before photos, email, phone, could change her password and all of the above if I wanted to,” she said.
The woman, who asked not to be named, works in cyber security and reached out to the woman whose account she was viewing to inform them of the issue.
She also contacted the Move With Us support line and was told that “nothing is more important than our customer’s privacy and the trust they have in us”.
It is not clear how long users’ information was available to others.

Some users said they attempted to fix the problem by signing out and back in, only to find themselves in yet another person’s account.
One woman said she hoped progress photos “don’t get into the wrong hands” while others were worried about the security of their other personal information.
“Yes, mine is (compromised). Massive breach of privacy as you can see details of users including phone numbers, email addresses, and date of birth,” Victoria McArthur said.
“I feel sick.”
Gold Coast influencer Rachel Dillon created the business to share fitness tips with her more than 1.4 million Instagram followers.
