Not even mums can escape Lady Justice when they break the law.
From drinking to drugs, fraud or theft, the mothers below have been forced to face Central Queensland courts for various offences.
DRUG OFFENDERS
EMMA MAY HAZEL CHRISTIAN, 32
Christian, a mother of three, was caught with 1.27g of marijuana, 14 clip-seal bags each containing less than .01g of methamphetamine, a further clip-seal bag containing 0.35g of meth, two syringes and a glass pipe when police searched a vehicle parked on Woodbury Road, Bungundarra, on September 14 about 11.45pm.
She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on September 28 to two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils.
She was fined $900 with no convictions recorded.
SHAYNA MAUD GLORIA DOYLE, 27
Doyle, a Gladstone mother, was caught with .23g of methamphetamine and a pipe on July 2, about 3.45am and drove an uninsured, unregistered and defective vehicle while unlicensed along Barney Point on June 28 about 1.15am.
She also withdrew $50.50 a man had won on his poker machine at Yaralla Sports Club on July 21, about 8pm.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on August 7 to fraud, drug and utensils possession and driving an uninsured, unregistered and defective vehicle while demerit point disqualified.
She was ordered to 12 months probation, fined $300, disqualified from driving for six months, and ordered to pay $50.50 restitution.
NOELINE JOYCE MCKINLEY, 50
McKinley, a mother of five and a grandmother, was caught with 2g of marijuana and found the standing in the front yard swearing at a neighbour when police arrived at a Berserker house in relation to an incident on April 9.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on May 31 to possessing marijuana and public nuisance.
She was fined $850 with convictions recorded.
NATASHA LOUISE GREEN, 41
Green, a mother of two who receives medicinal marijuana every fortnight, was caught with about 4g of illicit marijuana when police searched her home on Ocean Park Ave, Yeppoon, on March 30 at 4.30pm.
She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 11 to one count of possessing dangerous drugs.
She was ordered to a six-month $500 good behaviour bond with drug diversion.
No criminal conviction was recorded.
MARION LEE KAY, 24
Kay, a mother of two, was caught with 1g of marijuana on January 2, .01g of amphetamine when she was searched by police at the Gladstone watch-house on February 10 and a glass pipe and cone piece when she was searched again the next day.
She also stole a $79 CCTV camera from Gladstone Bunnings on January 28 and several other items from the tools section.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on May 8 to possessing cannabis, methamphetamines and drug utensils, as well as stealing.
She was fined $1000 with convictions recorded.
KODIE JO LOVE, 23
Love, a young Capricorn Coast mother, was caught with 125.6g of marijuana and a pipe used to smoke the drug when police searched a Byfield residence on March 17.
She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 4 to possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils.
She was fined $850 with a conviction recorded.
MONICQUE THERESE SHARMAN, 51
Sharman, a mother and grandmother, was caught with 0.107g of methamphetamine, 0.02g of meth, 2.4g of marijuana and 1.16g of marijuana mixed in with tobacco.
She was also caught drug driving with meth and marijuana in her system.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 5 to 15 offences, including four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug items, possessing property used in connection with a drug offence, failing to take reasonable care of a syringe and drug driving.
Acting Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Sharman $800 for the offences and recorded the convictions.
Sharman was also disqualified from driving for three months.
HALEY LILLIAN ANN DELAHUNTY, 29
Delahunty, a mother of two, was caught with less than 2g of methamphetamine in a safe, less than 0.1g of meth in a container, and a clip-seal bag containing less than 0.1g of meth, when police searched a Taroomball house on January 12.
Police also found a container with about 1g of cannabis in it, a single diazepam tablet, a used bong, a used brass pipe, and two used glass pipes.
Delahunty pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on March 9 to possessing methamphetamine, cannabis, diazepam (valium) and drug utensils.
She was ordered to 12 months probation with conditions including drug testing.
No convictions were recorded.
FRAUD
GWEN MARTHA FISHER, 30
Fisher, a mother of three, provided a “proof of payment” screenshot that had transfer confirmation of $379 for a Samsung tablet to Betta Home Living in Gladstone on January, however, it was later discovered she had only transferred 1c for the purchase.
She then went to Cash Converters Gladstone, where she exchanged the tablet for $120 cash.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 3 to two counts of fraud and two counts of failing to appear in court.
She was fined $1300 and ordered she pay $120 restitution with convictions recorded.
STEALING
CHRISTIE MAREE WILLIAMSON, 36
Williamson, a mother of three, got more than $200 worth of hair and beauty work done at Wavelengths for Hair on James St, Yeppoon, on December 24, 2022 at 12.20pm and left the salon without paying.
She also took silver earrings worth $5.
She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on June 22 to one count of stealing.
She was fined $450 with a criminal conviction recorded.
SHANNEN RHIANNE SWIFT, 29
Swift, a mother of three, attempted to steal a $579 security camera pack plus home base and $799 security video product from Bunnings Yeppoon on December 21, 2022 about 4.55pm.
She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 4 to stealing.
She was ordered to six months probation with a conviction recorded.
AMANDA BETTY COWAN, 40
Cowan stole an airfryer worth $1200 and many other items such as vacuum cleaners, perfume, security cameras and a trolley full of Aldi specials to sell so she could pay for Airbnbs when she had custody of her only child.
She was sentenced in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on March 24 for 17 counts of stealing, one for possessing tainted property, one for driving while demerit point suspended, one for possessing drug utensils, one for possessing dangerous drugs, one of shop lifting and one contravening police requirement.
She was ordered to complete 200 hours of community service within 12 months and disqualified from driving for six months with convictions recorded.
TRAFFIC OFFENDERS
MELISSA GAI CLARK, 47
Clark, a single mother of two, evaded police after she was clocked travelling at 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on the Capricorn Highway between Rockhampton and Gracemere on July 20 at 10.08pm.
She pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on September 28 to one count each of disobeying the speed limit and evading police.
She was fined $9520 and disqualified from driving for two years with convictions recorded.
RAQUEL BETTY LAWRIE, 48
Lawrie, a single mother of four, was caught driving while court disqualified on Hill Street at Emu Park on September 1.
She pleaded guilty to the offence in Yeppoon Magistrates Court in September.
She was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for two years.
TEGAN LEIGH LIVERMORE, 28
Livermore, the mother of a young child, was kicked out of Zodiac Nightclub in Rockhampton and spat at security on April 21 at 10.50pm and in the early hours of the next got behind the wheel of a car after drinking alcohol and crashed through the fence at Kalka Palms Hotel.
She had a blood-alcohol content reading of .132.
She pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on June 21 to one count each of commit public nuisance, drink driving and contravene direction or requirement of police officer.
She was fined $1200 and disqualified her from driving for five months with convictions recorded.
LEESA MARY HOLLINGWORTH, 44
Hollingworth, a mother, had a BAC reading of .050 when she was intercepted driving along Hampton Drive in Tannum Sands on January 8 at 3.10pm.
Her driver’s licence was suspended under the Transport Operations Act but later that day she decided to drive and was caught unlicensed on the Dawson Highway at 6.20pm.
She was fined $550 and disqualified her from driving for two years and one month.
LYNESSA MICHELL ABEL, 39
Abel, a mother of nine, tried to dodge being intercepted by police for driving while disqualified on April 18, 2022 in Rockhampton.
She was also caught with a small amount of methamphetamine, a pipe, 1.32g of meth, 1.53g of marijuana and Viagra.
She pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 30 to three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing utensils or pipes that had been used, driving without a licence disqualified by a court order, evading police and possessing S4 or S8 medicines.
She was sentenced to nine months prison with immediate release on parole.
She was also ordered to 18 months’ probation, fined $7437.50 and disqualified from driving for two years with convictions recorded.
UNLAWFUL USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
RAYMA ELIZABETH SWEETMAN, 25
Sweetman, the mother of a young child, was in a stolen car and found in possession of a taser, used meth glass pipe, scales and a clip seal bag when she ran from police on September 12, 2022, after spotting them at Bartlett’s Tavern.
She pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on February 3 to one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one of possessing a weapon, two of possessing drug pipes and one of possessing electronic scales.
She was ordered to two years probation with convictions recorded.
