A Central Queensland mother caught with drugs including 15 bags of methamphetamine in a late-night police sting, has faced court.

Emma May Hazel Christian, 32, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on September 28 to two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs, and drug utensils.

The court heard that about 11.45pm on September 14, police on Woodbury Road, Bungundarra, saw a vehicle parked outside of a rural firefighters’ shed.

The prosecution said Christian was in the driver’s seat and a man outside of the vehicle walked towards it, moved something from the passenger side, and started to make phone calls.

During a search of the vehicle, police found 1.27g of cannabis and 14 clip-seal bags, each containing less than .01g of methamphetamine, the court heard.

The court was told police also found a further clip-seal bag containing 0.35g of meth, two uncapped used syringes and a glass pipe with burn marks on it.

The prosecution said Christian had no criminal history.

Solicitor Myles Heath said Christian, a mother of three, worked as a supervisor at Woolworths.

Before handing down penalty, Magistrate Cameron Press noted the drugs and drug items that Christian had been caught with and told her: “It seems to me, you need to address some issues, otherwise drugs are going to overtake your life shortly and you’re going to be facing terms of imprisonment.”

Mr Press added: “Don’t expect to keep getting fines or probation when you come before the court with illegal drugs, particularly methamphetamine.”

Mr Press fined Christian $900 and no convictions were recorded.
