A Central Queensland mum, who was kicked out of a Rockhampton nightclub and spat at security, later got behind the wheel of a car after drinking alcohol and crashed through the fence of a pub.

Tegan Leigh Livermore, 28, pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on June 21 to one count each of commit public nuisance, drink driving and contravene direction or requirement of police officer.

Police prosecutor Courtney Brown said Livermore was removed by security from Zodiac Nightclub in Rockhampton on April 21 at 10.50pm.

Ms Brown said while waiting outside the nightclub, Livermore walked towards security and spat at them and then walked away, leaving in a taxi.

She said a white Hyundai sedan crashed into fences at the Kalka Palms Hotel on the corner of Lakes Creek Rd and Water St, Rockhampton, in the early hours of April 22.

Kalka Palms Hotel shared CCTV footage of the incident which showed the vehicle crashing into the screen panels around the beer garden shortly before 1am.

Ms Brown said police attended the scene about 1am and were given information that the driver of the vehicle had left on foot to a nearby address.

She said police attended an address and spoke to Livermore, who stated she was the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash and that she had consumed seven cans of double black alcohol prior to the crash.

She said Livermore had a blood-alcohol content reading of .132. and was immediately suspended from driving.

The court heard Livermore had also failed to attend the Rockhampton watch-house between April 22–30 to give police her identifying particulars.

Defence lawyer Claire Brtevnik said her client, who had a young child, was very upset and remorseful about what she had done.

Magistrate Cameron Press said Livermore’s actions at Zodiac Nightclub where she spat at security was disgusting.

“It is not acceptable,” he said.

Mr Press fined Livermore $1200 and disqualified her from driving for five months.

Convictions were recorded.
