Drink drivers who faced Yeppoon Magistrates Court

A Central Queensland mine worker and a sprinkler fitter were among the latest drink drivers to face court to get their punishments.

The following people pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court to drink driving offences.

Traffic conviction recorded

Zane Vawn Sheedy, 21

Sheedy blew a reading of .108 after he was intercepted driving while SPER suspended on Ocean Park Drive, Yeppoon, on May 6.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 29 to drink driving and unlicensed driving.

With two previous similar offences in the past five years, Sheedy, a tree lopper, was fined $300 by Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale, disqualified from driving for seven months, and placed on seven months’ probation.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Damien Patrick Kenny, 42

Kenny blew a reading of .078 after police intercepted him on Captain Cook Drive, Agnes Water, on March 8.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 29 to drink driving.

With no prior offending of this sort, Kenny was fined $350 by Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale and disqualified from driving for one month.

He successfully applied for a restricted licence for his job as a sprinkler fitter.

Sigred Elva Avery, 38

Avery blew a reading of .058 after police intercepted her on Farnborough Rd, Yeppoon, on April 24.

She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 29 to drink driving.

With no prior offending of this kind, Avery was fined $350 by Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale and disqualified from driving for one month.

No traffic conviction was recorded.

Joshua Daniel Cook, 22

Cook, a provisional licence holder, blew a reading of .067 after he was tested at the Yeppoon Town Centre Carpark on May 10.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 29 to drink driving.

With no prior similar offending, Cook, a mine worker, was fined $500 by Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale and disqualified from driving for three months.

No traffic conviction was recorded.

Timothy John Fitzgerald, 34

Fitzgerald blew a reading of .110 after he was intercepted on Farnborough Road, Yeppoon, on May 24.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court to drink driving.

With no previous similar offending of this sort, Fitzgerald was fined $650 by Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale and disqualified from driving for three months.

No traffic conviction was recorded.
