The Eathouse Diner
Modern Australian$$
This hip diner in a busy pocket of Redfern is a local favourite. There are no bookings, so get in early to secure a table in the retro dining room. Start with a teaser of tea-smoked oyster shooters or stuffed zucchini flowers, before moving on to larger share-plates. The house-made pumpkin gnocchi with lemony peas and parmesan or sticky beef ribs with slaw are crowd pleasers, but check out their website to keep up to date with the seasonal menu. Long waits between courses and the odd ordering mix-up are the only disappointments from an otherwise slick operation.
