Slow doesn’t always have to be a bad thing. Slow service, slow food, slow lunch: done right, slow is beautiful. Slow is perfect. And The Zin House, at the Lowe Family winery, is supposed to be slow.

The cuisine is slow-food too, a locavore menu with an Italian bent, served in a modern farmhouse: housemade charcuterie with fresh radishes; creamy parmesan risotto with black truffle; chicken ballotine with pomegranate gel.

And while the wine list could use a little more diversity beyond the Lowe collection, the sense of relaxed luxury here transports Zin House into the realms of rural idyll.
