Ricos Tacos
Tacos, tostadas and the rest pop inside a two-storey pub.

Is the new-look Norfolk the most colourful pub in the state? Quite probably. Murals of dancing tacos, talking goats and surprised pineapples pop against canary-yellow walls, and then there’s “Mexican sports bar” Club Ricos upstairs. This means photographs of Carlos Reinoso in his prime, plenty of mezcal, a foosball table and disco lights. How good.
The food is just as mood-lifting, starting with the signature hash brown, zippy with chipotle salt, and corn chips served with your choice of guacamole, smoky salsa roja, fried black beans – or all three. Go-to tacos include the al pastor, beef barbacoa (love the warm tang of chipotle) and whatever special is on the board, such as crisp sweet-and-sour pig’s ear.
At least one tostada piled with kingfish and coconut ceviche is also mandatory. Servings are generous and service is quick, whether you’re in for a feast or just snacks and drinks – you’re in safe hands.
