Fire, ambulance and police called after car crashes into Norman Gardens house

Emergency services are at the scene where a car has crashed into a house in North Rockhampton, injuring two people.

Emergency services are at the scene where a car has crashed into a house in North Rockhampton.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said there two crews on scene initially and no entrapments.

He said there no indications yet how far into the house the car had gone.

The incident is at a residence in Schuffenhauer Street, in the neighbourhood behind the old Bunnings building and Emmaus College.

It is a gated community off a roundabout.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said two elderly female patients were taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.

A QFD spokesman said there was one crew still at the scene and the car had been removed from the house.

He said a gas line had been struck but a gas technician had attended the scene and isolated the gas.

The spokesman said air quality tests revealed the air quality in the area was normal.

He said an assessment of the structural damage was now underway.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said a police unit had attended.
