The US Federal Reserve held rates constant as it waited to see what policies Trump implements. The Reserve Bank should also wait until after our election and it knows what policies will be implemented here.
There has been a concerted push to talk the Reserve Bank into cutting rates.
However, Reserve Bank of Australia governor Michele Bullock has many reasons to be cautious, despite the fall in trimmed mean inflation to 3.2 per cent. I hope she takes a conservative course despite the pressure.
