When you need cake in two minutes flat, it’s Adam Liaw’s mocha mug cake to the rescue
Make a batch of this mug cake mix and keep it in the pantry and you’ll never be more than two minutes away from a delicious, freshly made dessert.
Ingredients
½ cup mug cake mix
1 tbsp vegetable oil, per mug cake
¼ cup milk, per mug cake
vanilla ice-cream, to serve
MUG CAKE MIX
2 cups self-raising flour
2 cups caster sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
¼ cup decaffeinated coffee powder
Method
Step 1
Combine the ingredients for the mug cake mix in a press-seal bag and shake to combine.
Step 2
For each mug cake, take ½ a cup of mixture and combine in a large mug with 1 tbsp vegetable oil and ¼ cup of milk. Mix to a batter, then pour over ¼ cup of boiling water and microwave at 1000W for 90 seconds. Stand for a minute, then serve with vanilla ice-cream.
