Want equal pay and parental leave? Try the public sector

A new WGEA report shows that equal access to parental leave should be accompanied by reassurances that having caring responsibilities is not detrimental to building a career.

The Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s release of Commonwealth public sector employers’ gender equality information on Wednesday shows what can be achieved when employers commit to gender equality and build it into the way they do business.

The release includes the gender pay gaps of recognisable household names – employers such as Australia Post, Snowy Hydro, the Australian Taxation Office, the Productivity Commission and the Reserve Bank that provide everyday essential services or regulate the business environment for corporate Australia.
