Honestly, it doesn’t get much easier than this. A bit of chicken in a pan plus a few seasonings equals a delicious meal with very little fuss.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 6 chicken thigh cutlets, skin on

  • ½ cup soy sauce

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • ¼ cup rice vinegar

  • 2cm ginger, sliced

  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Method

  1. Step 1

Heat a large, lidded frying pan over medium heat and add the oil. Fry the chicken, skin-side down, until well browned. Add the soy sauce, honey, sugar, vinegar and ginger and about ½ a cup of water. Bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Turn the chicken skin-side up, then spoon the sauce over the top of the chicken.

  2. Step 2

Cover and simmer for 10 minutes until the chicken is cooked. Remove the chicken from the pan and boil the sauce until thick enough to coat a spoon. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and scatter generously with the sesame seeds.
