Harrigan's Irish Pub
16/20
Irish$$
Atmosphere? This joint is jumpin'. There's live music, loads of people and the pub, while not so authentically Irish, is unique. Book ahead on weekends because Harrigan's is popular - and very loud. The dining area has thick wooden beams, sandstone and brick walls and two large stained-glass skylights. As for the food, the salt-and-pepper squid served with a Thai-style salad, cashew nuts and a mild chilli capsicum jam impressed, as did the grilled Atlantic salmon, even though it was outdone by the braised scallop potatoes, fennel, capsicum and saffron cream sauce that accompanied it.
