Gorkha Palace
Nepalese$$
A harmonious vibe pervades this inviting family-run venue, which is adorned with prayer flags, saffron-coloured walls and Buddhist murals - and filled with groups chatting amiably beneath the sound of traditional music. For a glorious start to the meal, it's hard to go past momocha, wrinkly golden pockets of gamey minced chicken with pungent chutney, plus a pretty serve of bhaktapur chuwela: spicy chicken thigh lifted by a limey tang. Fresh, crusty naan makes the perfect companion for glossy mouthfuls of aromatic chicken and fish curries, followed by sweet, tangy cool-downs in the form of a refreshing dairy drink and bite-sized caramelly curd balls. Also at 146 Victoria Road, Gladesville 9817 0238.
