In the centre of BlackBird's lavish riverside dining room is a raised chandelier table, sitting on a rug designed by Catherine Martin for The Great Gatsby movie. Throw in spectacular views of the river and you have the truly theatrical night out. Chef Jake Nicolson describes his food as "heritage Australian" with a focus on sustainability and whole beast cookery. This means shellfish platters, suckling pig with pickled peaches, and wood-grilled Mayura Station wagyu tomahawk steak to share.
