Employers are being urged to ramp up efforts to support victim survivors of domestic violence after a survey of large ASX-listed firms revealed new paid leave entitlements for these workers were hardly being used.

Weak confidentiality processes, vague policies, entrenched victim-blaming stigmas and a lack of awareness around the leave were among reasons given by domestic violence experts for the low uptake.
