Western Australia will close its borders from Sunday night in what premier Mark McGowan describes as an attempt to create an “island within an island”.
The WA government has also imposed strict movement bans in the state’s remote Kimberley region, where a number of health workers engaged with Aboriginal communities have tested positive for COVID-19.
