Jessica Sepel will never forget her first long-haul flight. The founder of vitamin and skincare brand JSHealth was 12, and she was immigrating with her family from South Africa to Australia. Until this point, she had only done short trips to see family.
She was overwhelmed by the prospect of starting a new life in a foreign country, making new friends and adjusting to a different culture, and the 12-hour flight from Johannesburg to Sydney was always going to be arduous. It was compounded by one of the most confronting life-changing events that happens to girls – her period started for the first time.
