RBA will be less willing on rate cuts next time

Michele Bullock admits the RBA board had a very lively debate on the case for cutting rates or holding firm against sustained political and community pressures.

Governor Michele Bullock has delivered a benefit-of-the-doubt interest rate cut on the eve of a federal election.

But home borrowers should not expect the nine-person Reserve Bank of Australia board to be so generous in future, and nor should the Albanese government.
