The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 awards ceremony was held in the elegant northern Italian city of Turin on Thursday (Friday morning AEST), with Japanese-Peruvian favourite Maido in Lima crowned the best restaurant in the world.

Basque fire-powered wonder Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo, Spain, and Mexico City’s boundary-pushing Quintonil rounded out the top three.
