A deep dive into Sydney’s best swim spots

In a city known for its love of water, a new book celebrates both its famous and its most hidden swimming pools, beaches and gorges.

It takes a fair amount of chutzpah for a pair of ex-Melburnians to compile a guide to Sydney’s best swim spots. But when it came to researching their book Places We Swim: Sydney, their outsider status was actually a benefit, say Caroline Clements and Dillon Seitchik-Reardon.

“We don’t have any stake in the competition,” laughs Clements, referring to the parochial rivalries between Sydney neighbourhoods. Their book celebrates the diversity of places where Sydneysiders and visitors to the city can get wet – something that surprised the pair when they moved there.
