Millionaire mining brothers Chris and Andrew Ellison face penalties from mining regulators after it was discovered part of their struggling Lucky Bay garnet mine was built without government approval.
A company controlled by Mineral Resources, where Chris Ellison is the managing director and largest shareholder, has been told by the West Australian Department of Mines that it committed an offence when it built six evaporation ponds at Lucky Bay without permission.
