High jewellery collections are more often than not presented in intoxicating holiday destinations, such as beachy St Tropez or colossal Rome. Not so Cartier, which chose moody Stockholm, best known as the home of the Nobel Prize, minimalism and pickled fish, as the location to woo its top clients this year.
“When we present a new collection, we think about where would be a good setting for our clients to discover the pieces,” says Pierre Rainero, Cartier’s image, style and heritage director, who’s sitting in an exhibition space near Stockholm’s waterfront.
