Tolpuddle’s new tasting room is another great reason to visit Tasmania
One of the island’s most revered vineyards is opening its doors to the public.
When Michael Hill-Smith and Martin Shaw of Adelaide Hills winery Shaw + Smith bought Tolpuddle Vineyard in 2011, it was already legendary in wine circles.
The grapes from the vineyard in the Coal River Valley outside Hobart have found their way into some of the state’s finest bottles over the years, from House of Arras sparkling to Eileen Hardy chardonnay, and it was named as the inaugural Tasmanian Vineyard of the Year in 2006.
