More details have emerged after a 19-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash at Brooloo over the long weekend.
The teenager died after his car crashed into a tree on a road near the Mary Valley Highway.
Emergency crews were called out at 9.30am on Sunday after a Mitsubishi Lancer was found, crashed into a tree along Mary Valley Road in Brooloo near Rodwell Rd, about 40km south of Gympie, a Queensland Ambulance spokesman said.
Tragically, the 19-year-old man from Bollier was declared dead at the scene.
Police said initial information indicated the crash happened sometime on Saturday night.
It followed a horror 24 hours on the state’s roads.
At least one man is seriously injured in a crash involving a horse trailer at Beerwah.
Early Sunday morning, two men in their 30s died and two more people were taken to hospital after a car crashed into a train track in Bundaberg.
On Saturday, a 52-year-old motorcyclist died after a head-on crash with a ute at Takura on the Fraser Coast.
That same day, a 21-year-old man was discovered dead in his ute, which had rolled into a creek bed in the South Burnett near Nanango.
South of Brisbane, in Logan, a woman in her 30s died after a fiery crash about 1pm Saturday.
Wide Bay’s top police officer issued a plea to drivers returning home on Monday morning to get to their destinations safely.
