Patients have experienced delays to wait times at emergency departments across Queensland, after the system containing electronic medical records suffered technical issues.

A Queensland Health spokesman said Queensland Health had experienced an IT issue across sites, which is affecting logging in to the electronic medical records system, but that it was finally resolved by 11.30am.

“The service provider, Oracle Health, has identified the issue which is also being experienced at other Oracle Health sites across Australia,” a Queensland Health spokesman said earlier.

“Queensland Health is working closely with Oracle Health as they work to resolve the issue.”

The spokesman had said emergency departments could experience slight delays in wait times.

“Our hospitals and health services have implemented processes to continue the delivery of clinical services and to ensure minimal disruption to patient care,” he said.

“An alert has been published on the Queensland Health website.”
