Man killed injured in horror ute, bike crash at Takura

Police are investigating after a shocking collision between two vehicles left one dead and a Fraser Coast road closed for hours. UPDATES.

A man has been killed in a horrific head-on crash between a motorbike he was riding and a ute west of Hervey Bay.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash at Pialba Burrum Heads Rd, Takura, about 12.35pm Saturday.

Police said the man, 52, was riding west along the road when his bike collided with the ute, which was heading the same way.

He died at the scene.

The three occupants of the ute were assessed at the scene for minor injuries, but declined transport.

Police were forced to cut the road from Toogoom Rd to Carkeet Rd for several hours to investigate.
