Bai Tong
Thai$$
The highway locale is like an authentically high-fumed Bangkok-style intro to a meal far more Thailand than Tempe. The menu is a mix of classic hits and harder to find gems, such as the exceptional Chiang Mai duck curry - a cinnamon-accented yellow curry packed with melting meat and topped with a thatch of crispy noodles. Staff work the narrow red-and-black room convivially, serving coconuts brimming with flavour-packed curries, as well as other fun fare - from crisp ricepaper 'tacos' filled with minced chicken, prawn, tofu and bean sprouts, to sweet Thai desserts.
