Mami’s
Dinner party with charm, chaos and corn chips.
Critics' Pick

This may not be fine dining, but it sure is fun. Strangers share tables, bottles of wine are brought in from the pub across the road and there’s an old CD player pumping Latin American music.
You’ve stepped into the culinary home of Mexican owners Erendira and Juan Perez, and they’re making sure you don’t leave hungry. Adobo-marinated chicken is bundled into a cheesy toasted flour burrito with black beans, thick guacamole and pico de gallo – a hefty meal with corn chips on the side.
Soft corn tacos are vividly flavoured and overflow with charred mushroom, or fatty ground chorizo, or perhaps best of all, rich, slow-cooked shredded beef ready for dipping in hot birria consomme. Bring friends and get in early for dessert – slices of tarta de queso sell out quickly.
