Seafood$$$

Eating ethically has never looked so good as at this sleek corner pub where the seafood on its fish-focused menu is sustainably sourced and playfully prepped as zingy street food and barbecue share-plates. Oysters are hard to beat for starters, while grab-and-gobble street-food options include Asian (yabby and prawn rice-noodle rolls) and Latino (soft corn tacos piled with coleslaw and rock flathead in a cloak of heavy smoky chipotle dressing). For mains, there are eight or so varieties of fish to choose from - whole or in fillets, wood-barbecued or grilled - and prepared one of four ways: saffron, tomato and chilli or Thai herbs, for example. Well-informed staff can help you to choose; phew. Non-seafood options could include lamb, organic chook or Angus steak. The plush, blush-colour carpeted dining space is screened from the front bar and split by a long marble table. Lobster-pot lampshades, an open kitchen and inviting courtyard complete this funky, casual scene.
