Aashiana

Indian

Farsi for 'nest' or 'place to live', Aashiana reflects the regional kaleidoscope that is Indian cuisine. The huge menu may seem daunting, but jump right in with flaky samosas stuffed with vegies; slow-cooked dhals; sizzling tandoori dishes; fragrant rice and artfully spiced vegetarian, seafood and meat-based curries. The heat level is pitched to the middle of the road, so if you like it hot, ask them to kick it up a notch. Cracking meal-enders include gulab jamun (fried milk dumplings soaked in rosewater syrup) and carrot halwa, a tender combination of shredded carrots, cardamom, raisins and flaked almonds.
