FROM across Sydney and the Central Coast, NewsLocal newspapers are defining the most influential people in our communities.
Some are well known to you, the famous Hollywood and TV stars, footballers, Olympians and sports stars, models, musicians, business people, politicians, and the mayors.
But some are hidden influencers and heroes, the nurses, the volunteers, the academics.
They are the people whose opinions and actions we value and watch with sometimes envy, sometimes disdain and disagreement.
They are Sydney’s most influential people and they may be living next door to you.
NORTHERN BEACHES
The Manly Daily has compiled its list from the glamour of the northern beaches. They considered their positions as role models and decision makers, and not just how well they fitted into beach life, and how they looked in a bikini, although that has helped one of the influential.
SOUTH EAST SYDNEY
The Southern Courier compiled its list from the glamour of beach areas as well but also the booming part of its patch to the south. They compiled their list focussing on the movers and shakers who have a profound affect on residents’ everyday lives — from property developers and media powerhouses to hardworking nurses, pub barons and our political leaders.
LOWER NORTH SHORE
The Mosman Daily covers one of the most expensive patches of real estate in Australia. While they looked for personalities and high achievers they also looked for role models and community champions for a rounded list of influencers.
