Former sex discrimination commissioner Pru Goward says a Labor bill that grants the federal minister for women powers to set gender equality targets for companies is government overreach that will discourage investment.
Laws that could prevent almost 2000 large employers from securing government contracts unless they make progress on gender equity targets passed both houses of parliament on Wednesday.
