Budget uncertainty on minimum wage could spoil unions’ bid
The workplace umpire has complained it has no clarity over federal government funding for higher minimum wages in female-dominated sectors, potentially spoiling unions’ landmark bid for a 9 per cent increase.
The ACTU is pushing for an unprecedented 4 per cent extra for female-dominated awards in this year’s annual wage review on top of its claim for a 5 per cent increase in the minimum rates of 2.9 million award workers.
