Ausgrid workers escalate stoppages during pandemic

Hundreds of Ausgrid workers have endorsed ramping up strikes in the coming weeks, threatening power supply in NSW in a bid to force the company’s hand over a pay dispute.

About 1700 workers at a mass meeting on Wednesday endorsed escalating stoppages, with the union considering 24-hour strikes, and will next week vote to ban switching off power, which is necessary for network repairs and could affect consumers.
