This CEO wanted to be a pilot – now he runs a $4b investment company
Challenger chief executive Nick Hamilton was going to follow his father and take to the sky, but was acutely aware his dad had missed out on numerous family celebrations.
Growing up on Sydney’s leafy north shore, Nick Hamilton, chief executive of $4 billion investment management group Challenger Limited, assumed he would become a pilot.
His father was a pilot at Qantas and an offshore cargo operator, and his mother was a stewardess until she was forced to resign when Hamilton’s elder brother was born.
