ANU spent $800k on Julie Bishop’s new office in Perth

We suppose it’s the least ANU could do for her, given the prestigious role pays well below her usual rates.

Canberra’s Australian National University recently posted a mammoth $160 million deficit as the pandemic (and its own decision to limit international student numbers) wreaked havoc on its budget.

But after Perth-based Julie Bishop took the reins as chancellor early last year, the university still forked out nearly $800,000 (so far) establishing a new office in her home town.
