Teal push for new junk food advertising ban
A plan to stop junk food advertising on TV and radio between 6am and 9.30pm will be introduced to federal parliament this week, as teal MP Sophie Scamps pushes Labor for action on the growing obesity epidemic.
Dr Scamps wants the ban in place on live TV, social media and streaming platforms while children are watching, limiting the marketing of food and drink products not recommended for the young by the Health Council of the Council of Australian Governments.
