Businesses outside the mining sector recorded the single biggest rise in earnings in two years in December, fuelling economists’ expectations that GDP figures on Wednesday will show economic growth is finally picking up.
Economists expect the December quarter national accounts will show gross domestic product grew by 0.5 per cent in the final three months of the year, according to a survey by Bloomberg.
