Bond market eyes at least three rate cuts in 2025

Markets are now pricing in at least three interest rate cuts from the Reserve Bank of Australia in 2025 after a surprise pivot from the central bank caught bond traders off guard.
Rate strategists are also backing the money markets, saying a two-in-three chance of a rate cut at the RBA’s first boarding meeting of the year on February 18 is appropriate following yesterday’s monetary policy statement.
