Takeover target Japara Healthcare’s net losses narrowed in fiscal 2021, but operating earnings fell 40 per cent as the aged care operator grapples with impacts of COVID-19 and the outcome of the aged care royal commission.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been extreme throughout the sector. With a significant presence in Victoria, Japara was affected by both the Melbourne outbreaks and the extended Victorian lockdowns.
