The job of restoring profit growth at Endeavour Group will fall to a new chief executive after Steve Donohue decided to leave the top job at the Dan Murphy’s and BWS owner, which is battling softening liquor sales and a share price under pressure.

Mr Donohue has been chief executive for the past six years of the 30 he has spent with the group. He has overseen major milestones including Endeavour’s separation from Woolworths in 2021 and became a standalone ASX-listed company.
