As Sydney Swans fans flocked to the SCG this season, thousands passed by a cardboard cutout of one of the team’s biggest stars, Isaac Heeney, promoting cryptocurrency exchange bitcoin.com.au. Earlier this season, families were given $20 bitcoin vouchers after spinning a wheel at its promotional tent behind the Brewongle Stand before kick-off.

Another crypto exchange, Swyftx, appears on the polo and training shirts sleeves of the Brisbane Lions, who also play a preliminary final this weekend. Anyone watching the AFL this year will have seen the names of other crypto operators flashing on digital billboards behind the play.
